“Vitality of Juche idea and justness of the Report of the 8 th Congress of the WPK”

Dear Comrades and all participants, At a time of celebrating the 109 th anniversary of the birthday of H.E. Kim Il Sung who is the creator of the Juche idea, founding father of the DPR of Korea, I take this opportunity to express my gratitude for being part of this Internet International Seminar on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

And I would like to extend my greetings to the International Institute of the Juche idea for hosting this Seminar.

It is known that decisions and actions of leaders in society influence and affect the progressive lives of their people. This is because Leadership comes with power and authority being used in directing agendas. H.E. Comrade Kim Jong Un introduces the unique style of politics and guides Korean people to victory with his brilliant leadership and his exploits have seen the progress and also further strengthened single-hearted unity. The DPRK is gifted with great leaders whose only objective to front the interests and aspirations of the Korean people. Thanks to the WPK for coordinating the work which has seen the accomplishment of the objectives of Korean revolution.

Elsewhere in the world, though people claim to have abilities of choosing good leaders, even great countries have been failing to produce truly competent leaders capable of withstanding forces of imperialism but stick only to fullfilling the mandate of the voters. Its actually this weakness of leaders that Western imperialism is directing through its agenda of spreading neo-colonialism. The world needs strong leaders to defend the soverignty of nations and adherence to international law and respect, as well as appealing to the needs of the people without being compromised. 2

Comrade Kim Il Sung created the Juche idea in the early struggle to liberate his country from the Japanese colonial rule.

With the energetic ideological and theoretical activities, Comrade Kim Jong Il further developed the Juche idea and formulated it as Kimilsungism as required to the new era.

Comrade Kim Jong Un formulated Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism which is composed of the Juche idea as its essence.

General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, H.E. Kim Jong Un said.

“Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism is an integral system of the idea, theory and method of Juche, and a great revolutionary ideology representative of the Juche era.”

The essence of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism is the Juche idea.

It is remarkably well known that there was the 8 th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in January in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK.

In regard with the theme of this discussion I would like to discuss the vitality of Juche idea and the justness of the report of the 8 th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea by through studying the report of the 8 th congress of the WPK.

Some important contents of the report are as follows;

Comrade Kim Jong Un, in the report, reviewed with pride the proud achievements made by the WPK and the Korean people during the period under review.

The biggest success achieved in the past five years of struggle for implementing the decisions made at the Seventh Party Congress is that the politico-ideological strength, the first motive force of the Korean revolution, was radically augmented.

During the period under review the Party Central Committee achieved remarkable successes in consolidating the single-minded unity of the Party and the people as firm as a rock and building up the driving force of the socialist cause and enhancing its role by putting forward the politics based on the people-first principle as a fundamental issue and a main political mode decisive of the survival or ruin of the Party and the victory or failure of socialism and by vigorously and consistently unfolding it.

The report stressed that it is a valuable philosophy proved once again in the period under review that it is possible to tackle any unfavorable subjective and objective factors and easily carry out the huge tasks for the socialist construction despite any grave situation, manifold trials and latent shortcomings if the politics based on the people-first principle is thoroughly pursued.

The successes made through the past five years of struggle for constantly building up our own strength are the fruits of our strenuous exertion and development capacity, which are scores of times greater than any economic construction successes in normal time as they were achieved by our own efforts in the face of protracted wicked sanctions and blockade and awful disasters. And thanks to the enormous power of self- development which was accumulated despite difficulties, the great advance of the WPK and people toward a powerful socialist nation will be accelerated more vigorously in greater scope and depth.

General Secretary of the WPK in the report referred to the successes made in the struggle for consolidating the country's nuclear war deterrent and self-reliant defence capabilities.

To accomplish the great cause of building the national nuclear force was a strategic and predominant goal that should have primarily been attained by the WPK and people without fail in the course of building our ideal powerful socialist state.

Korea was divided by the US, the world's first user of nukes and war chieftain, and the DPRK has been in direct confrontation with its aggressor forces for decades, and the peculiarities of the Korean revolution and the geopolitical features of the state required pressing ahead uninterruptedly with the already-started building of nuclear force for the welfare of the people, the destiny of the revolution and the existence and independent development of the state.

Recalling that the Party Central Committee decided to develop a global strike missile with more powerful warheads and an improved warhead control system and carried out this historic task by relying on the patriotism and loyalty of national defence scientists, the report affirmed that the new-type gigantic missile on an 11-axis self-propelled launcher displayed during the military parade in celebration of the 75 th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea fully demonstrated the ultra-modernity and great striking capability of the DPRK nuclear force.

The accomplishment of the great cause of building the national nuclear force and its continued development constitute a victory of the organizational and leadership abilities of the Party Central Committee headed by Comrade Kim Jong Un and a great victory of the national defence scientists and all other Koreans who waged a death-defying struggle with an indomitable faith in independence and valiant spirit. The report reviewed the fact that new cutting-edge weapon systems were developed in the sector of national defence science one after another to cope with the enemy's desperate arms buildup, thus making the state's superiority in military technology an irreversible one and putting its war deterrent and capability of fighting a war on the highest level.

In the period under review the Party Central Committee successfully accomplished the great cause of building the country's nuclear forces and brought about a great change in 4 strengthening the state defence capabilities, thereby upraising the country to the position of a world nuclear power and military power in both name and reality and putting an end once and for all to the era in which big powers attempted to make bargain with the interests of our state and nation.

The most significant and proud victory achieved by the 7 th Central Committee headed by the Supreme Leader in implementing the decisions of the Party Congress is that it made sure that our people and posterity could create prosperity and happiness to the full in a dignified strong country free from the holocaust of war forever.

The report analyzed the fact that although our Party and the government of our Republic made well-meant efforts and displayed the greatest patience to prevent the aggravation of the regional tension out of sheer desire to ensure peace and security of the Korean peninsula and the rest of the world, the hostile nature of the American policy towards the DPRK has gone to extreme, instead of becoming weakened.

General Secretary of the WPK solemnly clarified the revolutionary standpoint that the national defence capability, the cornerstone for the existence of the state and a reliable guarantee for defending the dignity and security of the country and people and peace, should be strengthened continuously.

As long as imperialism remains on the earth and the danger of war of aggression by the hostile forces against our state remains, the historic mission of Korean revolutionary armed forces can never be changed and our national defence capability must be steadily bolstered along the track of new development.

The report on the work of the Central Committee of the WPK is a great practical programme as it admits the subjective and objective factors checking the Korean revolutionary advance and indicates clear struggle tasks and ways for innovating overall work of the WPK and the state of the DPRK and switching the socialist cause to the next stage of victory.

As in the report those mentioned-above are most important achievements obtained and tasks in the struggle for shaping the destiny of the Korean people.

In terms of vitality of Juche idea, all brilliant successes achieved by the WPK and the Korean people in the period under review came from Korean people’s own efforts and struggle.

What made the Korean people become the winner in making their country as a power?

Firstly, it is because the Korean people have Comrade Kim Jong Un as the great and brilliant leader of the Korean revolution in high esteemed and loyally follow his idea and leadership.

The DPRK has a small territory and population. In the case of example in the DPRK, It is proved that people will become a winner if they have a great and brilliant leader even though their country is small.

Secondly, people will become a winner if people thoroughly arm with the Juche idea which teaches “man is the master of his own destiny and man has the strength to shape his own destiny” and are firmly rallied around their brilliant leader and their great party.

Therefore, the vitality of the Juche idea is fully proved during the period under review mentioned in the report and the justness of the report of the 8 th Congress of the WPK is also fully verified.
