Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism Is Eternal Guiding Ideology

The 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) opened in Pyongyang, the capital of the revolution, on January 5, 2021 amid the great attention, expectations and aspiration of all the progressive people across the world.

General Secretary Kim Jong Un in his closing address underlined that the Eighth Congress of the WPK served as a congress of struggle and progress, which demonstrated the steadfast will of the revolutionaries to achieve the prosperity and development of our style of socialism without fail, with self-confidence in victory and courage and by invariably holding aloft the banner of great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

Today the Workers’ Party of Korea leads the socialist cause of Juche along the road of victory holding fast to Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as the eternal guiding ideology of the Party.

The great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism is an integral system of the idea, theory and method of Juche, and the guiding ideology of the WPK.

Not only the issues arising in cementing the Party and enhancing its leadership role but also all theoretical and practical issues and the solutions arising in advancing the popular masses’ cause of independence, the cause of socialism to victory are scientifically clarified in Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

In the historic struggle for accomplishing the cause of Juche for over 70 years since its founding, the WPK has regarded the revolutionary thoughts of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il as the only guiding ideology and conducted the Party building and activities as required by Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

The President launched out on his revolutionary career in the mid-1920s when Korea was under Japanese military occupation (1905-1945). He led the hard-fought 2 anti-Japanese revolutionary war for 20 years, during which time he laid the organizational and ideological foundations for the founding of the Party. On this basis he accomplished the great cause of the Party foundation soon after Korean liberation on August 15, 1945.

The WPK has been guided by the Juche idea authored by the President. Based on the principle that man is the master of everything and decides everything, the Juche idea throws light on the anthropocentric revolutionary principle of putting the popular masses at the centre of revolution and construction.

The President not only built the Party with the Juche idea as its guiding principle but also ensured on this basis the oneness of ideology and leadership in the Party, maximized the ideological unity and organizational cohesion of the Party ranks, and developed the Party into a mass party rooted deep in the popular masses.

Under the outstanding leadership of the President the WPK led the Korean revolution to victory even under the indescribably complex and difficult circumstances.

Through its refined and masterly leadership the Party has firmly defended the dignity and sovereignty of the country for the last 75 years, turning it into a strong people- centred socialist power politically independent, self-sustaining in the economy and selfreliant in national defence.

The WPK has been strengthened and developed into the revolutionary Party in which the ideological system of the leader is firmly established, the motherly Party that formed a harmonious whole with the popular masses and serves them and an invincible Party with iron discipline and fighting capacity as it has the great Kimilsungism- Kimjongilism as the guiding ideology.

True to the wishes and plans of the President, the WPK always kept to the Juche idea in the building of the Party, army, economy and culture and in all other undertakings.

By holding the banner of the Juche idea as high as ever, the WPK boosted its dignity as a stout vanguard which leads the cause of the masses' independence and socialism victoriously.

Unity and cohesion are the lifeblood of the Party and the source of its might. Regarding it as the basic line of Party building to establish the monolithic ideological system in the Party, Kim Jong Il has united the whole Party solidly round one pivot in thinking, purpose, moral and sense of duty on the basis of a single ideology.

The whole Party was so pervaded with a revolutionary spirit that all the cadres and Party members, equipped with the Juche idea and united as one under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, upheld his thoughts and leadership with their whole hearts.

As a result, the WPK became an iron-strong fighting rank and an advance guard of the Korean revolution unaffected by any convolution of history.

It is the supreme principle in its activities to continuously enhance the people's material and cultural living standard. It is one of the policies of the WPK to make the people lead happy life free from worries about food, clothing, housing, medical care and education of children. It just represents the leader Kim Jong Il's viewpoint on the people.

He said: Patriotism derives from ardent love for the people, from which the revolution starts. All of my thoughts and activities are always centred on the people. It is my purpose and idea to devote my whole life to the dignity and happiness of the people.

So he saw to it that the Party thoroughly subordinated the mission and fundamental principle of its policies to the demand and interests of the people. His will of ascribing every activity of the Party to the love for the people is crystallized in his many works such as “The Workers' Party of Korea Organizes and Guides All the Victories of Our People” and “Look After the People in a Responsible Manner As a Mother Would Do with Her Children”. It is him who presented "Serve the People!" as the Party's slogan. His theory is that even a star in the sky must be picked down and a flower be blossomed on a stone if the people wanted. Late in last century, when all the people had to fasten their belts as the country was in the severest difficulty, thanks to General Secretary Kim Jong Il who gave top priority to the building-up of the country's national defence to firmly defend the people-centred Korean-style socialism, a new era of building a great, prosperous and powerful socialist nation for the happier life of the people has been opened up.

Today, the WPK, which has supreme leader Comrade Kim Jong Un as General Secretary, its top post in high esteem, invariably maintains and further strongly displays in a new and high level its revolutionary original nature and popular character as the Party which is struggling for translating the people's demands and interests to the reality upholding a banner of socialism and as the one which takes responsibility for and care of the destiny of the people to the end and makes selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.

General Secretary Kim Jong Un, who formulated the ideas of President Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il as Kimilsungism-Kimjongillism and gave unique clarification to its essence as people-first idea, visits wherever people live. His field guidance covers not only factories, farms, fishing farms, scientific research institutions, construction sites, schools, hospitals but also baby homes, so there is no limit for his field guidance.

The DPRK is changing its looks in a rapid speed under the care of Comrade Kim Jong Un, possessed of spirit of making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people in which a star in the heaven must be plucked down if the people want, there could not be satisfaction in the work for the people and serve for the people all day and night. There has been the increase of productions in all sectors of the national economy by dint of self-reliance, thereby the people's living standard is being promoted. The bases of light industry and commercial and service institutions have been remodelled and modernized and the admirable facilities for cultural and emotional life of the people are being built throughout the country.

The WPK is recognized as the most authorized, combatant and revolutionary Party in the world.

Not only the issues arising in Party building and activities but also all difficult and complicated issues arising in accomplishing the cause of socialism can be settled fully when all works are done as taught by Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

Reflecting the matured requirements of the times and the development of revolution, the 4th Conference of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in April 2012 solemnly 5 proclaimed home and abroad that the WPK is the Party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism is the eternal guiding ideology of the WPK.

In the future, too, the WPK will conduct the Party building and activities with Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as the eternal guiding ideology of the Party and thus invariably maintain its revolutionary character as an invincible revolutionary Party, the Party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and advance the socialist cause of Juche, the cause of building a socialist thriving nation to victory.
