“Vitality of Juche idea and justness of the Report of the 8 th Congress of the WPK”

On the occasion of the “Day of Sun” I take this opportunity to express my gratitude for being part of this Internet International Seminar on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilismof.

In that regard, allow me to express my gratitude and extend my greetings to the International Institute of the Juche idea for hosting this remarkable Seminar.

Going forward, concerning the theme in this discussion I prefer to mentioning about Kimilsungism-Kimjongilismof. Comrade Kim Il Sung created the Juche idea in the early his struggle to liberate his country from the Japanese colonial rule; Comrade Kim Jong Il further developed the Juche idea and formulated Kimilsungism which has the Juche idea as its essence as required by the new era;

Comrade Kim Jong Un formulated Kimilsungism as Kimilsungism-Kimjongilismof as required by the need of Juche era.

General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, H.E. Kim Jong Un said.

“Kimilsungism-Kimjongilismof is an integral system of the idea, theory and method of Juche, and a great revolutionary ideology representative of the Juche era.”

The essence of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilismof is the Juche idea.

The Juche idea is a philosophical thought which centers on man, the popular masses. The Juche idea explains the man-centered philosophical, the people-centered socio-historical principles and the guiding principles of the revolution and construction. All theories and principles, the 2 whole system and content of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilismof proceed from the Juche idea and are developed and systematized with the Juche idea as an ideological, theoretical and methodological basis.

Kimilsungism- Kimjongilism is, in essence, the people-first principle.

It is quite well known that there was the 8 th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea in January in Pyongyang, DPRK.

Comrade H.E. Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK made the report in the 8 th Congress of the WPK.

I would like to discuss about the vitality of the Juche idea and the justness of the report of the 8 th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea in terms of the people-first principle in connection with contents of the report of the 8 th Congress of the WPK.

The report on the work of the Central Committee of the WPK is a great practical programme as it admits the subjective and objective factors checking the Korean revolutionary advance and indicates clear struggle tasks and ways for innovating overall work of the WPK and the state and switching the socialist cause to the next stage of victory.

The gist of the report which clearly indicates the path of the Korean revolution at the present stage is that we must boldly overcome the existing threats and challenges, make a new leap forward in the construction of the Korean-style socialism and make a clear advance by strengthening Korean people own power, Korean own driving force, in every way.

Some important contents of the report are as follows;

Comrade Kim Jong Un, in the first chapter, reviewed with pride the proud achievements made by the WPK and the Korean people during the period under review.

The WPK organized and waged indomitable offensive struggle for turning every obstacle into great victory for the past five years since the Seventh Congress of the Party, and the victory won in this course can be characterized by that it opened up an era of fresh development, an era of our state-first principle.

As mentioned in the report, the era of the state-first principle is a new era of self-respect and prosperity, which was born as a result of the WPK making all possible efforts for the people and determinedly building up its Korean own force, boldly facing all kinds of challenges of history, a result of the do-or-die struggle for exalting the dignity and position of the state.

The report firstly reviewed the successes achieved in embodying the politics based on the people-first principle in the period under review.

"Everything for the people and everything by relying on them!"-this was the core of leadership idea to which the Party Central Committee held fast without an inch of deflection and slightest concession during the period under review.

While intensively endeavoring to thoroughly make the people-first principle run through the Party and state activities, the Party Central Committee uninterruptedly carried on the struggle for eliminating all kinds of anti-people factors laying obstacles in realizing it.

The report analyzed the scrupulous political offensive waged by the Party Central Committee to secure the people-first principle as a firm political climate of the state and as a Party climate and national climate.

What was of special significance in the work of the Party Central Committee for consolidating the politico-ideological position was that it carried out more intensively the education in the revolutionary traditions as required by the period of succeeding to and developing the revolutionary cause of Juche.

It is one of the major successes achieved during the period under review that the Party Central Committee established an all-Party and all-society climate of equipping themselves with the great revolutionary traditions created in Mt. Paektu and overcoming difficulties and opening up the way of advance in the indomitable fighting spirit based on the traditions, the spirit displayed by the anti-Japanese guerrillas, and thereby ensured that the noble fighting spirit and disposition of the Korean revolutionaries were firmly inherited.

Thanks to the politics of the WPK based on the people-first principle full of trust, devotion, reward and obligation, the political and ideological position of our revolution was firmly consolidated, an unquenchable strength that can break through any obstacles and challenges was built up, and the advantages and vitality of Korean-style socialism centered on the masses were fully displayed.

The report stressed that it is a valuable philosophy proved once again in the period under review that it is possible to tackle any unfavorable subjective and objective factors and easily carry out the huge tasks for the socialist construction despite any grave situation, manifold trials and latent shortcomings if the politics based on the people-first principle is thoroughly pursued.

As mentioned in the report the WPK achieved great success in consolidating the political and ideological position during the period under review.

Allow me to explain the reality and vitality of Juche idea in terms of people-first principle.

The DPRK is a true country of the people, where the people-first principle, the most popular political idea applied. The people-first principle is a political ideal that considers the popular masses to be the masters of the revolution and construction, relies on them and makes selfless, devoted efforts for the good of them.

The people-first principle embodies the Juche-based revolutionary philosophy that regards the people as the most valuable and powerful beings in the world, and reflects the thoroughgoing standpoint of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the DPR of Korea to realize the people’s demands and interests to the letter.

The DPRK fully demonstrates its dignity as the great country that no country in the world can compare in its true appearance of state and the bright future, as it thoroughly applies the people-first principle.

True picture of the DPRK where the people-first principle applied finds its expression in the fact that the Party and state make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.

Making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people is the mode of existence of the WPK and the government of the DPR of Korea, and the essential to the politics of people-first principle.

The most important undertaking of the Party and state is the epochal improvement of the people’s livelihood, and all the policies are formulated in reflection of the people’s will and demands.

It is the reality that can be witnessed only in the DPRK that top and absolute priority is given to the people’s interests and convenience.

The slogan “Everything for the people and everything by relying on them!” contains the standpoint of the people-first principle of the WPK and the government of the Republic.

In the DPRK, the top and absolute priority is given to what are oriented to the people and popular among the people, whereas a slight factor and act of infringing upon the people’s interests is never tolerated. Making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people is the will of the WPK.

True picture of the DPRK where the people-first principle applied also finds its expression in the fact that the people entrust their all to the Party and state and support them with sincerity.

Though many countries advocate they pursue the politics for their people, they are not the countries to which the people entrust their destiny and the future of younger generations.

A state that the people depend and support faithfully is invincible, indeed. It is the ideological and mental quality and an excellent trait of the DPRK people to support the lines and policies of the Party and state.

Even in the vicious anti-DPRK machinations of hostile forces and the manifold difficulties threatening their existence, the DPRK people absolutely support and devotedly implement the Party’s lines and thus the most powerful state defense capabilities reliably securing sovereignty, the right to existence and the right to development have been provided and the overall national strength and a strategic position of the DPR of Korea been put up on the highest phase.

Cherished in the minds of the DPRK people is the steadfast conviction that they cannot exist even a moment apart from the Party and the motherland. They pledge themselves to devote their all to accomplish the great cause of achieving prosperity by dint of self-reliance. Future of the DPRK is prosperous as there is a large contingent of patriots who are defending and developing a socialist motherland with their own efforts.

Therefore, we are able to find out the vitality of the Juche idea and the justness of the report of the 8 th Congress of the WPK through the reality of the DPRK in which the people-first principle, in essence, Kimilsungism-Kimjongilismof thoroughly has been embodied.
